Fordham University London & the Gabelli School of Business welcomed the newly inaugurated President, Tania Tetlow with a gala reception in late October 2022. The event's venue was hosted atop the urban megalith, the Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe.

Renzo Piano's baby that has come into maturity, the Shard opulently wined and dined VIP guests while offering magnificent vistas from the 34th floor of the Shangra-La Ren room's sky lounge which visually graces the River Thames and iconic London landmarks such as the Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

The gala welcome was well attended by (120) guests who traveled from the US, United Kingdom and multiple countries to welcome the new President. The reception opened with a moment of silence for the late Scott Simpson, a London Board Member of the Fordham London Advisory Board who passed away last spring.

Poet, literary translator and Board Member, Ginger F. Zaimis, offered a dedication of poetry for the festive occasion to honor both the new President Tetlow and host, William Loschert, KSG. She recited excerpts of a translation-in-progress from the Ancient Greek to English Verse of Meditations, a Stoic text authored by the Roman emperor and philosopher, Marcus Aurelius.

"I am thrilled to read for this occasion and honored to offer poetic dedication, warm welcome and blessings to Tania Tetlow, the first lay female President of Fordham University and daughter of the South."

After the President's keynote, Tania Tetlow presented a token of gratitude to the evening’s host, William Loschert, KSG and Trustee who has been instrumental over the years in breathing life and longevity into Fordham London. Msr. Loschert was honored and Knighted by the Vatican in 2021.
